AfterMath is a composition-inspired group of musicians from Tanauan City, Batangas, Philippines. Formerly known as the Sound Poetry, the band was formed by Jeff Opendo, Francis Pinauin and JC Encarnacion in September, 2005. In 2007, Jefrie Parra joined the band as they participated in FAITH’s annual Rave Battle of the Bands, and stayed after JC left that same year. The band continued to work with other musicians after that to find the right blend of people and sound, so as to define its identity. After working in sessions with other musicians in town and in Manila, the band had decided to change its name to AfterMath in 2008, adding up more members to transform the group itself and their music, from acoustic to a full band. Currently, the band has 5 members:

  • Jeff Opendo on violin and vocals
  • Kiko Pinauin on guitar and lead vocals
  • Jefrie Parra on bass and vocals
  • Kio Callado on percussions
  • Joevanie Sanchez on keyboards

Guided by a collaborative integration of both alternative and classical music styling, Jeff, Francis and Jefrie write and arrange the music for AfterMath. The lyrics of their songs are product of imaginative thinking and creative literary compositions made by the artists themselves – a poetry of sound indeed. This has maintained AfterMath’s music and identity over the years.

Nina Virgin
The name Nina Virgin was derived from a real person's name - Nina - a batch mate of drummer/vocalist, Carlo Frio from the University of the Philippines - Los Baños, Laguna back in 2000. As close friends, Nina was appointed a pet name “Virgin”, but it was not until 2004 that the band Nina Virgin was formed.

Nina Virgin started out as a three-piece band. They have had multiple changes as they progressed over the years. Despite several changes in their roster, they managed to stay together and keep the band alive. In 2006, the band released their first extended play (EP) album. Currently, they have around 40 to 50 unrecorded songs and they are looking to release a follow-up EP, if not a full-length album. Today, the band is composed of:

- Carlo Frio - drummer/vocalist
- Joseph Esguerra - guitarist
- Chito Gigantone - guitarist
- Jayton Lapitan - bassist.

Nina Virgin seeks to first establish their name around the Los Baños community and later on, they wish to reach out to a larger audience and hopefully further expand their horizon in the music scene to gain more popularity.
Their ultimate goal, just like all bands,
is to sign a record contract.
